• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

bought a skidplate from them last week. got a paypal receipt but no email from them plus they haven't answered the emails i've sent them. anyone know if they're closed for holidays or something?! or do they sometimes take a while to get back to you...?

finally got some answers after tracking em down on facebook. tried to deny i'd ordered from them but i then pointed a few obvious things out. then shortly after got an email from paypal & usps informing me of tracking numbers. still no actual order confirmation or response from hyde racing though. weird.

I´m interested in how your order works out as I need a plastic skid plate for my 630. Have looked at their model on the net but can´t see how the same model would fit the 610 AND the 630(?)

not sure about that but i have heard the 610 model fits the 630. will post here when mine turns up and let you know what i think. plus post some pics :)

I have ordered with Hyde racing 3 to 4 times and have not had a problem. Typically just get paypal reciept then get a note when they set it up for dilivery. Good product as well.

I am old school I pick up the phone call and place my order Never had a problem and the product is nice. Ordered many times with them

wouldn't hesitate to phone normally but i'm UK based so tried to avoid it. i'm an old skool kinda guy too but emails are standard nowadays. anyways it's been sent now and that's the important thing :)

The underside of the frame and cases on the 630 are the same as the 610, so it's the same skid. They don't have holes for the oil drains so they work on both.

It's a good product. I put one on before TCI made up all the accessory prototypes based on my bike, so I got their skid. In comparison, I think an aluminum is a little stronger, but it's way noisier and quite a bit more bulky.

My only concern with the Hyde skid is have a big rock flung at where it's basically touching the cases. Don't know if would keep from cracking them or not. I've gotten rocks hitting hard enough to bend the aluminum one.

The hyde is easy to remove for oil changes, it fits tight, and it's really quiet. I'm 50/50 on them with a traditional aluminum. Each has their pros and cons.

I have also heard some folks have trouble with their customer service. I guess the kid that runs it gets busy and seems like he doesn't pay attention to an individual customer.

I've always just ordered from them and it shows up in a week.

Facebook ? how many buisness's handle customer serivce there ?

My guess is there small company trying to make it through the tough times, cut'em some slack.

i'm all for cutting people slack but you must appreciate if a company doesn't respond to 4 separate emails and doesn't send an order confirmation once you've handed over the money you do start getting a bit worried. even more so when they deny you ordered a product from them when you so clearly did.

but hey, could just be an honest mistake. all that matters is it's on it's way now and is as good a quality as they purportedly are :)

I've had several of their plates, and they are a little funny to do biz with, but everything has always worked out.
