  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Where could I get the infos how strongly the screws have to be tighten (with torque wrench). 3 bolds which holds oil filter cover for example (this one I would need quickly). They are in and out quite frequently and I dont want to turn them around, since on my last bike it happened 2 times.... For some the infos are in maintenance book, not for all....

It's not in the manual on the USB stick?

For something like that, lacking torque specs, I'd tighten it moderately by hand (definitely avoid heavy torqueing) and if you're worried about it coming out, some blue loctite would fix that problem.

No infos on USB, no info on maintenance book..... Said but truth.... Thanks Glangston. But I would apreciate all infos. If somebody knows where I could get them, thank you in advance!

You need a workshop manual. It has detail service information. Go to you dealer it typically cost $15 or so. Significanly more detail than owners manual.

I have the the workshop manual and the torque listed for the oil filter cover screws is 6NM for the TE310 engine. If you can get your hands on a workshop manual do it, it has all the info needed and good pictures as well if you are not a confident mechanic.

Thanks! I'll try to get it somewhere. The link above unfortunatly doesn't work.

Turn until the bolt spins free. Remove bolt and stick toothpicks in hole with locktite. Reinsert bolt and tighten to 1fpt and pray all is well**************************************** Kidding. See above. I use locktite by the gallon. Expensive but it works awesome. Enjoy and ride safe.
