  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna SMR 510 2008

Diogo Vieira

Husqvarna
Hello friends of the forum. My name is Diogo, I'm Brazilian.

I have a Husqvarna SMR 510 years in 2008.

Unfortunately in my country this bike is very rare.

I'm redoing the engine of her at that moment. Parts imported from Europe.

I have some doubts, I would help.

1 - I am concerned about the issue of overheating. Any tips?

2 - How many hours of you engine to verify open?

3 - What is the maximum hours that the engine can handle just walking in the street (not on track)?

4 - Any tips to shop for parts and modifications?

I appreciate everyone's help. thank you

Overheating- up line of the water pump on these bikes the coolent line split to the left and right radiator with a T style split. Replace that with a y. Also the 2010 models come with an upgraded cooling pump I would upgrade to that as well. The temperature sensors also fail after a while and make the bike impossible to start I would replace that with a new one right off the bat. Also engine ice antifreeze is a great product which will lower temperatures as well.

I have 10,000+ miles on my 09 te510 and she's still going strong!

I don't know how shipping will be but a lot of the site sponsors listed on cafehusky are your go-to for good parts.
