• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

HUSQVARNA RACE READY FOR 2010
Historic Marque Returns To AMA Enduro Competition

December 21, 2009 - Woodcliff Lake, NJ - Look for Team Husqvarna to take the podium in several different disciplines during the 2010 season as the factory plans to reestablish the brand as the leader in off-road racing. The past season provided an excellent starting point according to Husqvarna Motorcycles NA president Mark Brady. "We are very pleased to build on Husqvarna's rich racing heritage," says Brady. "However, we are now ready to make some more history!"

Speaking of history in the making, Husqvarna's Glenn Kearney campaigned the GNCC series on a 2-stroke WR300. He also won the overall at the infamous SETRA Little Brown Jug for good measure. Meanwhile Adrien Chareyre bagged an X Games medal on a SM450; bubbly Canadian export Cory Graffunder earned EnduroCross cheers with a couple of podiums and 4 heat race wins aboard his TC250. And then the Ty Davis-led Zip-Ty Racing team finished top 2-Stroke and 3rd overall at the grueling Glen Helen 24-Hour.

However Husqvarna's top 2009 moments may have been when Desert Master Nick Burson won the United States Desert Racing Series on his TC510, not to mention winning the overall at the legendary Elsinore GP. And to top it all off Nick earned the #1 Open Plate in AMA District 37 Desert competition - an accomplishment that Husqvarna hadn't achieved in more than a decade! But as the man said, "you ain't seen nothing yet!"

Moving forward into 2010, the factory racers have been signed, including the return of the Zip-Ty Racing effort on the West Coast and Glenn Kearney back East. AMA Hall Of Famer Scot Harden also takes over as the racing chief and will be overseeing all the programs. "The real news is that the program is growing and we plan to really step up the level of our competitiveness," Harden announces as Husqvarna is looking to take back leadership in woods racing. "Husqvarna will be reentering the AMA National Enduro Series after a 20-year hiatus."

Aussie export Glenn Kearney will be back in 2010, competing in AMA GNCC and AMA National Enduro events. "We are glad to have Glenn back and look forward to him reuniting the Husqvarna name with Enduro dominance on his TXC250," says Harden. Kearney will be supported by his brother Ben who will be traveling with him to provide technical support.

"We have contracted Zip-Ty Racing again to compete in the 2010 WORCS, AMA National Hare & Hound, EnduroCross, District 37, Big 6 and other major West Coast events," Harden adds. The riders are:
Ty Davis, Team Manager (also competing in select races).
Bobby Garrison, Former WORCS Champion - Garrison will compete in the WORCS series and other select West Coast off-road events on his TC450. He will also compete in AMA District 37 Big 6 Grand Prix Events.
Cory Graffunder - AMA EnduroCross, World EnduroCross, Hell's Gate and other extreme events aboard a TC250 or WR300 2-Stroke.
Nick Burson, Defending USDR #1 Plate Holder/Elsinore GP Champ - Burson will race AMA National Hare & Hound, U.S. Desert Racing, D-37 Desert and Big 6 series on his Desert Master TXC450.

Who is going to put on the Western Hare Scrambles this year
Heard it was gone the guy who runs WORC quit putting then on
At least that is what i was told I turned in my transponder after the last race

Western Hare Scrambles have been put back with the AMA clubs. I am happy to see this. The AMA really steped on their D**** when they took the nationals away from the clubs last year and caused a political mess. The WORCS guys did a fair job but we were definatly treated like second class citizens compared to the WORCS regulars. The course's were mostly WORCS style layouts as well, not very technical. Cant wait to get back to some good old-ugly harescrambles.
