  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna Motorcycles NA - "No service manual for 2012 TE511"

L4V

Husqvarna
I just spoke with Husqvarna Motorcycles NA in Corona, CA (951-268-3600) and the office manager asked one of the dignitudes in the office how I might purchase a service manual. His answer, "We don't sell them to the public." Is this how Husky assures active service revenue? I have owned a good 40 motos in my days & 2/3 have been new. I buy a service manual with every new bike & I have never heard of this policy. Anyone know how to land one?
.
This and the dragging clutch are spoiling the joy of owning this bike.

I buy service manuals too, I bought one for my 2006 Tacoma from my Toyota dealer. I certainly would not expect Toyota North American Corporate headquarters to sell it to me.

Not sure I understand?

Maybe I misunderstood her...so I just called her back. "It is Husqvarna'a policy to NOT sell service manual to the public and that includes dealerships." Is that not true? Can I buy a 2012 TE511 service manual from a dealer?

Could you give me a vague idea where you are located? USA? California? EU?

There are a couple vendors that are husky dealers on this forum. I'd give them a try.
I just spoke w/Charles at Husqvarna (rep. for this area), he said that Husky doesn't put out a paper manual but rather a downloaded manual onto a USB stick or CD from the dealers. Interesting that my dealer (Motor City in Avondale, AZ) said, "We don't have one." when I asked to buy one the day I left w/the bike. Hmm...

Correct. They stopped printing manuals a few years ago.

Try not to be too hard on your dealer, it is not easy, at all, for the dealers to find that type of information. I will endeavor to find either the manual, or part number for the manual.

I have seen this progression. First all you have is the Owner's Manual and parts catalog. Then later, about when the new models are coming they seem to offer a digital version of the Service Manual. Takes a while for them to confidently put the service manual out to the public. Pretty sure there are service manuals for 2010 and some 2011's.

Charles, the Husky rep, said that my dealer might be willing to copy their maual onto a USB Flash Drive or a CD if I brought to them either one.
'Not too sure how willing they'd be to spend time doing that...for a fee, maybe.
.
Thanks for the link...I'll look at that. :)

Also, Hall's may do this if any dealer will.
