  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Husqvarna 125 doma silencer repacking...

Hi

I repacked my Husqvarna 125 doma silencer about 2 months ago because it was making a lot of "poping" noises and it go a lot more louder. Then today i repacked it again, but it still sound alot like it was before. So I am wondering, how do you repack a 2 stroke silencer? Much or little whool in the silencer? Or is there something else to think about?

Sorry if I did not make my point so good :P

Looks like this

I always use FMF muffler packing, but I don't think your muffler would cause the problem you are describing.

Where the popping noises only when you decelerated the bike with almost closed throttle?

if that is the case check the pilot jet it could be that it is partially blocked.

When it does it over the full range I would fist change the plug for a new one and have a good inspection on the ignition system.

the packing of the silencer is very unlikely the cause of the problem

Changed to the standard exhaust and it sounded fine, so it got to be the doma silencer. But going to buy a wr silencer or something and modified it. When you pack your silencer, how much do you pack? I have heard to pack it full and not to pack it full. How do you guys do?

You probably need to change your jetting with the pipe change. Although it is the pipe that may be "causing" the jetting to be off, you still need to change your jetting in your carb to match your new pipe.

I have repacked mine a few times, with FMF packing and Moose racing packing. Never had any issues. you don't want the packing too tightly wrapped, I always put some tape on it to help hold in place and I fill mine, but not packed really tight if that makes sense. I would look at jetting some more though.
