• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I took the liberty of adding the components necessary for this model to hit the streets and be able to legally carry a plate. Thanks Honda Motor Company for providing the appropriate tail hardware.

Buddy just got back from taiwan and rode the 390 duke and said it was very good. He is a heavy kool aid drinker though. Also a very talented rider.

I rode a duke 390 and i was pleasantly surprised

the sit position is pretty straight and relax
the power is comparable with a XR400 yet with less punch but for sure the power is there

the steering is agile and for in town perfect

ABS was a feature I sure want to test out and riding 70 Km/ hour I slammed the both brakes
no slipping or blocking and standing still very quick

not a bad bike (yet I do prefer a tat nervous 2 stroke character with a hit ( small bore 2 stroke))

One thing was for sure after the test ride a duke 200 is a joke
same bike yet underpowered that's for sure (and no ABS)

Back in the states when I had a Harley streeter, I would from time to time talk to the pure street riders ... Most if not all had a crash due to some brake locking accident. Like it or not, ABS is gonna help many riders ..

I had a friend here who purchased the smaller Duke ... I decided not to ride it. He sold it now. No regrets on missing that boat.

ABS is cool and safe
yet the most accidence happen when a wheel (front or back) locks up and the reaction to it is wrong.

I am not to intimidated when a front wheel locks but when riding of road it more or less happens a few times per ride when you push it and you start to do it in a controlled way.

side note is that this is all with light bikes if you have a 160 Kg bike and it suddenly skids out you have to bring a different level of forces to the table then when that happens on a 110Kg bike
