• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husky gear from IT

The new version is a little spendy, this place says they're discontinued:

I liked 'em, my first pair were used. They were the most protective boot you could get for a long time and of course the most popular. My fav's ended up being Full House Tony D boots, I repaired and resoled those boots for almost 10 years!

wow, thats a newsflash...time for me to buy a pair and horde them away...thanks for the heads up!

i hope you are right troy...it could be metro wont carry them anymore. they do stop production of the hi point every so often and one day it may not start again. i was just at the metro site and it did not say discontinued, so they must have just added that. the super victory has been out for a few years...very interesting

Does anyone have one of those helmets? interested in the airflow through the visor, mainly for road riding. Can't seem to locate any other pictures.

Do you mean the AGV AX8? I've got one recently, but it's a little different from the one above.

I think any visor is going to be an issue at road race speeds. Nice helmet though, well made and comfy, great ventilation so far and looks good!

Oh, and got this from the IT shop above:

Hi Erik, thanks for the info. You are in NL? I was just there and looking for a Husky dealer or some old stock of red gear without any luck.
I should be back this summer some time and will look you up.

cheers

Hi NCSteve,

Yeah we are. :) Located in Loenen. We have a cup of coffee ready for you!
There is nothing left in the Netherlands. However I have a few sources in Belgium and Germany where I can get a few items of red gear and accessories. So nothing on stock, but I can get my hands on it!
