Hey guys, this discussion came up on an Australian site, what are your thoughts should I turff the overflow bottle on my 08 TE510
husqvarna racing told my dealer that the husqvarna system is ment to be a non recovery system and the catch bottle is only for adr hence tc's dont have them (corect me if im wrong i havent seen a tc with a catch bottle). once you have filled your rad up it will loose a bit which is normal i have swaped the 1.1 bar cap for a 1.4 so it should keep a bit more fluid it has never got hot the fan only ever started up once sitting in the shed above idle for ten minuits so i could see if it works.
This is the same info I got from my dealer.
I blew a hole in the catch bottle when the heat sensor shat itself and didnt let the fan know to turn on. Sensor and bottle were replaced under warranty but I didnt worry about fitting the new bottle. I just zip tied the overflow hose to the frame.
Im running engine ice now, and still using the 1.1 bar rad cap. Coolant level should only be about 10mm above the core fins. I havnt lost a drop since, even when my mates katos and crf's are boiling their arses off.
cheers
