• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

We gotta settle this once and for all....at one recent GNCC they used both, and listed a Husky rider on a Husaberg.
Ive seen my results listed as both. To further confuse things, the americans and the europeans seem to use different abbreviations.

What say ye?

I'm quite curious!

I changed the 'shouting' filter so it takes 4 capital letters to activate. Further references to HSQ & HVA should work better.

The rest of the world is going away from abbreviations and using the whole name:

But internationally when an abbreviation is used it's HVA

Here in the states most promoters use HUS for Husqvarna

Maybe Husaburg should use HKTM because nobody really rides Burgs anymore... especially when the new Burgs are going to be in the $11,000 to $12,000 range!

Anyway I'm fine with what ever it is.

The "Q" is definitely unique and therefore feel the HSQ stands out better, but used to seeing HVA quite a bit too. HUS while is the first 3 letters like all the other abbreviations for SUZ, YAM, HON, KAW, KTM, etc HUS could mean Husaberg or Husqvarna, So Huksy should be HSQ and Husaberg HSB as the "U" is common to both.

HVA is the international convention for Husqvarna, AB. However, as they have nothing to do with the bikes, perhaps HSQ would be more logical.

Huh. I would have guessed it the other way around. Unless HSQ gets caught in bed with a YZ or something this is a landslide. A freakin mandate from the people.
Interesting.

I agree that HUS just isnt an option.

This IS America. It IS 2008. It would depend on how good the "stolen" sex tape was.

I have to agree with the majority. I like HSQ better. Even though I know what HVA is, sometimes when I see it I don't immediatly understand what it means.
