• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Nice find! Is it an 06? Hard to understand how someone could own a bike like that and not ride it.

That is a very good question, how many Huskies are enough?

:applause:

I don't know, but after seeing photos and video of the Nuda I'm thinking 5 might be the perfect number :D
The SV650 would already be gone if Husky were offering a dirt-worthy version of the new 900 twin

Yep, an `06...

Let's see...682 miles in 5 years, that's 136.4 miles per year...that's a whopping 11.3 miles per month

It has some issues, but nothing that Eric can't fix. He's pretty stoked as he needed a fresh horse

Nice find ... and it has a cool exhaust pipe or is that the stock can? :) ... are the atm bike days numbered?

Garages are full of bikes that are hardly ridden for various reasons .... Most importantly maybe, bikes are a luxury item and not really needed, aren't that expensive and can be stored easily at ~0 cost ....

I'm even seeing a few bikes over here that are hardly ridden and for sale ... No huskies though of course ....

That's a Leo Vince can, but it came with all the stock stuff, too...even the stock tires. And, yeah, if you meant to type "KTM" (although "ATM" is an appropriate nickname when it comes to buying some OEM parts ) it will be for sale eventually. He's always known the TE610 would eventually be his next bike but after riding Flying Trash Can's bike at Stonyford last May the idea of owning one took on more of a sense of urgency. Pushing the LC4 up the hill on our vacation ride was the last straw :)

 Ha-ha!! Hoo-boy...you crack me up! For a minute there I almost thought you wrote that bikes were a luxury item and not really needed

Seriously, though, I know what you mean, and there's some tuth to it...for most people :)

sweet lookin ride! i dunno how many is too many but most folks that ive met in the bike world be it dirt or street bike have multiple bikes lol it dont take long either since gettin the old dirtscooter in early spring we now have 5bikes and 3 4 wheelers lol 3 bikes and 2 wheelers run hahaha keep on collecting!!

edit 2 huskys(1 that runs) and lookin to get a few more cause i need em ya know hahaha

WoodsChick

lol ... Mine is not a luxury ...its my life ... if I had 2 Huskies, it would be like life x2 :) .... Others, don't need a real life so they park their Huskies and go off in the ~wrong defection ..

Yep on that Leo can, many of the garage dwellers are well kept and upgraded as needed :)

PS -- I just hate saying that K word

Nice grab

There is a super sweet TE570 around here that looks every bit as nice as that i have been trying real hard not to buy. Being low on disposable cash helps :D

Looks like Erick snagged himself a nice new ride.
So far as how many are enough, I don't know know, I've never had the pleasure of having more than two in the stable at any one time but I have a wish list.
One early eighties 500 XC
One early eighties 500 AE (I like the 500s)
One '06 610 TE/SM (currently in the garage)
One '11 WR 300
One '11 WR 125
And a spot reserved for the new 900 twin.
I think that would round out the herd pretty nicely.

Nice buy and good to see Eric becoming a more entrenched Husky man. He just needs the Nuda for completness

Oh finally!!!
I swear, Eric's bike was hurting my eyes...;) and I've got nothing against KTM's, on the contrary, some of their bikes are very cool, but Eric's old bike....oy vey...
Thanks to FTC your next trip report is gona look

Hey, being low on disposable cash didn't stop us :p Go for it; there'll be more money on the way!

Over my dead and rotting carcass will Eric have a Nuda before me! :naughty:

 You crack me up, MW! He was just telling me last night he intends to put his cutting board rack on his TE. He plans on mounting it the same way he mounted it on his KTM...by hose-clamping it to the stock rack. I told him the Husky deserved better than that, but I'd be willing to let it go if he'll agree to not put those saddlebags on it :)

Good for Eric! We can argue KTM vs Husky models all day, but the electric start 610 is so superior to the LC4.... I don't know how he kept it after you got your 610? I used to take some heat over at ADV Rider from the LC4 Mafia (Including Creeper), when proffesing this! 4 Huskys right now and about 6 including a 900 Nuda might be close.....
