  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

How long is yours? (TE449 shock)

I have read that the rear suspension on the 2012 TE449 is 1/2 inch shorter than the 2011 model year. Is that true? I am trying to verify that my 2012 has the correct shock. Will someone please measure there 2011 and 2012 shocks and past here the center to center measurement.

Thanks

I don't like to talk about the length of my parts in public, it tends to embarrass others... especially 1/2 an inch. I'm told its not the size, its how you use it..

Is the swingarm length also different? I know they changed the length of them between 09-10 on the 310's

I've read the same...might be a Tinken ? on by how much.

I'll tell ya that mine is whatever I was blessed with from the factory...and my shock is stock too.

Sorry couldn't resist

2012 model rear shock is 7mm shorter than the 2011 model. rear wheel travel on the 2011 is 300 mm and 293 mm on the 2012.

Next time my bikes apart i will measure the shock and post up the length.

Not talking about the length of my parts, things that small shouldn't be talked about! :p

call zipty racing they will have the spec, they are ones who played with that issue from their Nat 449 511 machines
