• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Doing a rebuild with all crucial things getting attention.
No paint but a better tank. Motor has the age where it needs a service to start over fresh like to be safe with new valves..
I bought mega bikes but never had 1 come apart with so much mint still, no trashed frame bearings all greasy still... Both muffler baffles all in tact even, bizarre

Not much left on the TX
Plastic has been cleaned up. Barrel will be back this week, hope the head is ready too. New valves to be all seated for no leaks. Waiting on the seal kit for the shock.

I had the exact same bike, time-serted the entire engine added custom manifold and Mikuni Flat slide carb and made my own forward chain roller assy (the factory one was missing. etc etc etc

I had it running today on a tiny amount of fuel.
She ran on the first kick. I had major trouble with an aftermarket intake.
I was sold on idea that would work lmao, trim the carb they say lol. Not a chance, so little room in the frame. Waste of time and money, you wont see me buying that crap again, NOS or used only way to go..
So i had to borrow a nice carb and a intake from a spare bike, what a shame..
Can't mickey mouse sh*t.

So the last bit to make fresh is the shock..20210417_174355.jpg

Rode this old beater over to the mail looking for my decals, yeah nothing yet...
Had fun blasted around the hood for 10 minutes, a good heat cycle #1.
Going drop some oil and see how it all looks. Go out again soon.
