• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I don't see a single supermoto in their lineup so as far as I'm concern they can kiss my ash but hi, I hope you'll have good luck with them, have fun (if you can afford them) ;)

Wait a minute! I said they look cool. I have not removed my Husky socks yet! Even when your happily married you at least look right? i do not think all their 2012 models are known yet. Not jumping ship yet just window shopping****************************************

All you need now is $8,500.00 or you could buy a left over WR250 and spend about 4K on it after you get it.

Husky I hope you are looking at what both Gas Gas and KTM have for 2012.Then go to work and show up in 2013 with something we will all want. This past weeken friend of mine shows up in the desert with a new 2012 KTM xc 250 2 stroke. He parked it next to my 2010 Wr which looks like my 2006 Wr
which is the same as a 2000 Wr.I do like my Wr but they do look dated. If a small company with limited funds like Gas Gas can built something new just think what BMW/Husky could do

I had a '97 GG EC250 with a CA plate on it for several years. Was an outstanding motorcycle, should never have sold it.
The biggest dealer and supporter for the brand was (I say was, because they're closed) Smackover Motorsports in Georgia. Super nice guys, but just couldn't make it with the brand. The importer got bought out, there were distribution problems, selling territory problems, and parts problems. They probably have that straightened out by now.

There isn't a lot real innovative about them, mostly just updates from what they built 14 years ago. Basic motor and frame design is the same - I can tell by looking. I'm sure everything has been tweaked and they're a great riding machine, I'm just sayin'.

There were a LOT of problems with their 4T when it came out. They were an early builder of a 450 4-stroke and it had big problems - they would just grenade. That and the distribution and dealer network issues was like a death-nell to them, they were worth virtually nothing.

You can still buy an early EC200/250 for next to nothing. Local guy got a low-time EC250 with a plate on it for a thousand bucks. Nobody knows what they are and no one is going to take a chance on them. They're still great bikes if you can keep them running.

Also local here is MotoWest - Steve Marolda - was a huge supporter of the brand and had a local race team. They competed very well back early last decade. He couldn't keep it going and the brand has pretty much died off here on the west coast.

My very early '97 had a gear-driven counter balancer and was electric motor smooth. No peg or bar vibration. You could ride it all day and not get tired. Plus it had a TON of flywheel effect so it would crawl like a trials bike and never die. Power-wise it was like a CR250R of the day but had another gear and wide ratios, a lighting coil, and plusher suspension. Marzocchi's and Olins were state of the art back then (still are I guess!). Nickel plated frame, great ergos and handling. Nothing to complain about on that bike. Was like a trail version of the CR. I loved it, one of the best bikes I ever owned.

Yep, I think they used the same frame and just made the Husky taller and took away the 6-speed************************************************************************************************************************! Sad

Your old Gasser looks good! Look at the new frame and the composite subframe for 12 there aree ALOT of changes!

I'm keepng my 2008 Husky CR144 but it wll have a 2012 GasGas 200 parked next to it! I have a 2010 GG 300 and they are very nice bikes. The 2012's take it to the next level; lots of updates.

No you don't need to bring it in small pieces..... bring the whole bike to my house and I'll keep it in my garage for you. A guy that works for me did this whith his new 2011 KX 450 LOL. About atwo weeks later he got up his nerve and told his wife. He said " it's better to get something you want now and beg for forgivesness later than to never be allowed to get it".
