  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

High RPM "Flat / Choppy" after Race Map II & FMF pipe (TE449)

gtxscirocco

Husqvarna
C Class
Hello,

I just installed the FMF pipe and had my local dealer installed Akrapovic Map_E60BD_AOCREMAP on my 2012 TE449.

On the ride back home I noticed that the bike hits a wall and flat-lines in the High RPMs. Sounds and feels all "Choppy" like its cutting out in the high RPMs. (Please note: both Low and Mid range sound and feel GREAT)

INFO:
FMF Slip
O2 is still in
Emissions stuff has been pulled off!
Jumper wire is plugged in
(So far no starting or stalling issues. No bad exhaust popping)

Any ideas?

It seems more details are needed here. Map II is already loaded and accessable via a jumper under the seat. The stock maps aren't made to run with an aftermarket pipe. Perhaps you should clarify what they loaded. Like Danny mentioned, you should have requested Map #3 to run that muffler.

So just got back from the dealer... They had installed the Akrapovic Map_E60BD_AOC Map yesterday.. Today they reinstalled Akrapovic Map_E60BD_AOC for me.

As stated, the bike is real strong in the low/mid range but falls off in the higher RPMs.. I watched the tech go through the Map options and nothing was labeled "Map3"

* AM I running the correct Map?

It's funny because my te511 did the same thing with race map 2 plug and without. When I installed the jd tuner with factory pre sets it still flat lined. It wasn't until I started subtracting fuel from the red only setting to lean out the high rpm mixture did the bike respond well past the flat line area. Other words it's way to rich on top, weird huh ... Could be the reason so many with this machine have reported fuel in the oil. Now my problem is oil in the fuel ! Brap Brap ! :)

How's your pumpkin ? You were just an early adopter before the white plastic I guess.

Still waiting to get a confirm on this:

Is ZipTyRacing installing the Akrapovic Map_E60BD_AOCREMAP that I now have or are they installing something else?

Thanks

You say the O2 sensor is still installed, but is it unplugged? It needs to be. Also, hopefully they reset your TPS after the map. If not, I would do that first as stated on here somewhere. The Akrapovic map will still display MapII on the dash.

Also make sure your battery terminals are tight.. we see that all to often with vibration/higher RPM issues

Is the loose battery terminal a common problem ? I lost my positive terminal nut in the middle of a ride this past weekend . I had to use the negative terminal nut on the positive and then I zip tied the negative cables to the post to get me thru the day . Looks like I'll be adding some loc title when I get a new one
