• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Well, if you do (or if you want to prevent a precedent that could close your favorite public lands) then please go here...

...check a few of the boxes on the left in random order and hit "send."

After you send your letter, you will get an e-mail sent to you with a link in it. Click on that link and your letter will be sent

It could only be easier if I were to come over to your house and put
your fingers on your keyboard for you!

Please do it for me.

Thank you.

Sorry I didn't make that a little more clear in my initial post

Thanks, everyone!

When I did it, it took me to a list of names. At the top of that page there was a warning that my input was not yet sent, that I needed to click on the confirmation link that was emailed to me.

I went to my email account, the email was there, I clicked on the link, then my input was sent.

Also, feel free to forward a copy to your local Congresscritter and/or legislative body with a notation that you are a registered voter and would appreciate a response:)

Time is of the essence, everyone. We only have a few days left.

Please click on the link in the first post and send in a few comments.
The only things you have to actually type in are your name and e-mail address. The rest is just clicking on boxes.

This is what we all stand to lose...

And this is what we stand to gain by being complacent and apathetic...coming to public lands near you!

Done. And a repost it appears. Love that place.

Yep, it was a repost...and a badly needed one at that:)
Thanks for reminding me to bump it to the top. We only have a few days left.
