  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Help Needed....te 310, 2012.

Mattyry

Husqvarna
Hi guys,

Hoping to find out some answers why my bike has no spark.

Firstly my bike is a TE 310, 2012 model.
Symptom- while riding bike I slowed down and stalled it....tried starting it (electric start) an noticed a significant difference in the sound of the starter). It sounded like it was not engaging with the flywheel. Attempted to kick start it, as it is normally pretty easy to kick start, but this did not start the bike, tried roll start and still no good. From here i had to be rescued.

Bike is now back in the garage and i done some basics diagnosis and found no spark....(coil primarty and secondry windings are within spec)

Starter motor still turns but fails to engauge the flywheel still (think it got the dreaded shredded gear issue) but my real problem is that there is no spark????

Ive got hold of the electrical schematic and can confirm all fuses have power.

It seems to me sofar that the ECU controls the Power Relay via wire Y/G (ecu #12). When turning the ignition on and releasing the kill switch - only for 2 seconds does the ecu deliver the signal for the power relay but then is releases.
I beleive that the power relay then goes on to power the following.

Coil
Fuel pump
O2 sensor

Hence the reason why there is on spark is because the Power relay is no being energised when cranking takes place and not powering the above...?

Does anybody know why the ecu would stop or de energise the power relay....???

Any help would be much appreciated....

Hi Mattyry sorry this is not a solution to your problem but I also have An electrical problem with my TE310. The bike fell over & the handlebars twisted round and pulled hard on the wiring harness, since then the bike won’t start I’ve taken the headlight off and there is a bunch of bare wires, the guy before me took off the ignition and wired it straight through so there are lots of wires with just tape around them I was trying to look at your schematics but it’s a bit blurry in the photo if your headlight is off is it possible you could post a photo of what the wiring is supposed to look like behind the headlight I can’t find anything online..
many thanks

Motosport or HAlls should have woodruff key in stock. Zipty has a tool to hold flywheel while torqueing nut.
