  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

hi all!
help needed
Looking for my first husky, have one to look at in couple days. As seller saying it's 2008, SM or SMS - we don't know how to distinguish them, by photo it's in pretty good conditions.

I need bike for cross-enduro training and trail riding, not for competition. So i will look for a solution in 18x21 wheels and derestrict it - but not the main question for now.
For now i asking help, in what i have to look at, buying husky? Can i somehow check is valve working? Is there some specific thing i have to check?
will be happy for help!
with respect Max.

the model in the picture is one with an electrical actuated power-valve

you should see cables moving from the actuator/CDI box to the front of the cylinder (exhaust side)

also if the valve is not working you will have not a lot of power in the higher RPM's

look if the suspension is tune-able (if possible it is limited and on later models absolutely not) which might bring you in limitation when you progress in your skill and eventually translate it in speed.

the gear box is road orientated and for the trails you should swap the sprockets to 12-50 or 12-52

Thank you very much!
Haven't seen bike yet, today call owner, he discovered leaking fork, both of them. So he will fix it till monday.

an electrical actuated power-valve
is it better than another one?
if possible it is limited and on later models absolutely not
do you actually mean suspension travel?
the gear box is road orientated and for the trails you should swap the sprockets to 12-50 or 12-52
as i understand WRE, SM and SMS have the same gear box ratio?

So watched this bike, pretty good condition. Have some small problems, maybe for 200-400$. 2008 all stock.
