• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

help Identify fork part

Husqvarna
I have a 94 610te with Showa usd 45mm front forks.
I had to replace the pumping mechanism which came from France.
After put everything back together...one of my clickers still wasn't functioning correctly so I took it back apart to compare the two. after i drained all the oil i noticed this tiny little piece in my oil pan.
I do not have two of these....not sure where it goes exactly....not sure how to get another one.
Should this piece have come with the pump i ordered? If not...anyone know the part # for this piece?

The manual for my bike does not show this piece.
The manual for these forks says nothing about this piece nor show it.
I took the piece to ktm.....they don't have one.
I think it may go to my bike forks but unsure why i can't find pictures, diagrams, or a part #

Thanks for the help.

That's how it goes.

George...do you mean that i have the parts in the correct order? if so do you know the part #? Is this part supposed to come with a new pump?
Or do you mean "that is how it goes" when working on Husky's? I have gotten the latter response from many. Lol
Thanks

Rancher 1 reply is what I mean.
Also with Husky sometimes the parts fiches have been a year behind. By this I mean the the part would not be on say a 1994 fiches but would be on the 1995 if the same part was used.

You are correct. I have the parts manual for a 1995. Seems they changed the suspension from 1994 to 1995. I have a Showa front and rear apparently on my 1994. I can find even less info online about these.
Now I am unsure which Showa's I have exactly: doesn't say in the parts fiche (nor show my missing part). There is no manual I can find online for a 1993 or 1994 husqvarna. Tried buying one online that stated it was a "1994". They sent me the 1995 mostly in German (which is available free online). This manual is also useless for my forks (different forks).

Inverted? USD? Any Idea on which models came on these 93-94 bikes? How many mm am I looken at: 43, 44, 45mm etc?
Thanks

Anyone know where to get a detailed diagram of this showa usd fork? The parts fiche has a diagram but doesn't show the inner parts of the plumbing mechanism nor show this mystery piece.

Which Showa usd fork model is on a 1994?

What other bikes (Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, etc.) where fitted with these exact forks? Perhaps they have a more detailed diagram and available part#.

The 1995 Husky model has a different part # for the pumping device then the 1994 Husky. Does this mean (as i think it may) that these parts are not interchangeable? If so...the only parts i can order for forks (and diagrams I can use) are from a 1993-1994. Please correct me if i am wrong because this will definitely open doors for parts and diagrams (i hope / probably not).

If I have to get new forks entirely...What years of Husky (or non-Husky) will fit on this bike? Does how the front brake connect to the fork vary with the model, year, etc of the fork (or bike)?

This tiny little piece is preventing me from riding.
Grrrrrrrrr

The 93-94 models used the 45mm usd showas. George told you earlier that you have the correct idea of where it goes in your picture. George was a husky dealer forever and a known guru for the brand. You should assemble it and go riding. I did the reseach for you try this link for a 1993 suzuki rmx 250 https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/oem-schematic/2 you want to look at the front damper (model N) parts #11, 12, 13. The internal specs are made to manufacturer specifications so I would not bet on every part fitting both forks but it is the same model. I hope this is enough information for you to assemble it now.

Thank you both for all you help. I would not have been able to figure this out without you two. Been doing research for weeks with no luck.
Rancher1 that is the first diagram that I have been able to see this missing piece! stoked.
I ordered the Suzuki part that is missing from my forks (Needle). I know it is a gamble on if it will fit (as you stated)....but $20 is a good gamble vs. entire new forks.
I will update this post on the outcome of these possible compatible parts.
Thank you again
