• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Help: 610 Carb rebuild

Thanks for reading this all!

Well i got a 610 with a Leo Vince and a jet kit put in it recently. 12000 miles on it. It would randomly cut power and backfire occasionally while riding. I decided to try cleaning out the tank and cleaning the carb. So i've cleaned everything out and am using the jet kit that he had in it (he lived in San Jose and i live in Riverside CA so it should be pretty good). I've put everything back together but have a little memory problem and obviously didn't take enough pictures. :-( I have an extra screw that i think goes to the carb but i can't remember where. I also have the mixture needle and a little spring (that i think is supposed to go on the end of it but i'm not 100% sure on that either). :/ The screw has some locktight on it. It looks like a carb screw but maybe i am just imagining things and it's from a different part of the bike (grr didn't take enough pictures).

I thought the only screws that looked like this were 1) the one that held that little screen down under the floats and 2) the one on that throttle bar when you open the top of the carb. Am i missing something?

I also have the mixture needle and a little spring (that i think is supposed to go on the end of it but i'm not 100% sure on that either). :/

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

the spring goes on the end of the needle, but there should be a small washer and o ring as well. As you put them on the needle it goes spring, washer, oring. You then slip the whole assembly into the bottome of the carb. the other screw looks like a float bowl screw.
