• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello folks, thought I would join the forum having just bought a TE630. Hopefully it will make longer trips more comfortable after riding 14 days on the KTM.

Can you guys tell me where I can get a good bash/skid plate-----I will need one.

Anything else I need to know to make it crash better would be a great bonus. I have the crashing bit down pretty well (see attached unconcious picture from the TAT).

I've got a Hyde plate on my SMS, much lighter and saves the cases on a low-side, but it's not nearly as strong as any of the aluminum options. Also, look into some real handguards and some peg/axle sliders. May have to get creative, since SME is out of business now.

Welcome

Get with Dan at Motoxotica (a vendor here) and get an Uptite skid plate. Great product and vendor.

Cheers Guys, can get the handguards easily enough in the UK. The skid plate I assume is from the USA as the website is not opening up. Anybody know where and how much they go for. Need to calculate the huge theft (tax) the UK charges to let bits in.

Husky Sport in Winchester might stock a bash plate.
Would be worth giving them a bell as they are UK Importer of Husky's.

Force skid plate from downunder
I like its one bolt removal

With the way our bike vibrates I don't think that is a good thing. I recently found two of my bolts missing after a days ride and the skid plate still stayed on with the remaining two. One bolt lost and I'd assume your plate falls off and gets run over. Three extra bolts to remove when changing the oil takes all of 30 seconds.

Yeah i had reservations at first.
Now have about 4000km with that skid plate hasn't budged or come loose even after copping a few good hits.Force have a good reputation their gear has been used in the dakar and by plenty of enduro guys .

Gav, I am close to manchester. Going to spend a bit of time getting the bike ready for a return to Morocco in April with the guys from Adventure Bike Warehouse near Salford.
