• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Has Anyone Taken Delivery ?

Jersey Woods

I live to ride !
Has anyone taken delivery of a a new Austrian built Husky yet ? The dealer I use is taking deposits and has said they will be available in mid January. I was just wondering if anyone here has one and if they do have one, do they like it ? I'm very interested to hear about how they handle. I'm also waiting to read the "first ride report" when someone tests one out for the first time.

Ryder Lafferty's race bike is supposed to arrive any day, so he'll be the first one in NJ. Andrew Delong just got his bike, so it can't be long. I'm sure we'll hear a ride report.

I guess we will be hearing about Ryder's bike soon then. I'm sure his will be worked to the hilt with out a doubt. I hope to hear how they work right out of the box. I'm also interested how they set it up and what they do to it. :D This will be interesting to read about because I like to learn new things when I can.

There's the Indonesia 2013 MX Champion and factory Husky rider, Lewis Stewart, riding the new 250 4t this yr ...I hope he comes on-line and fills us in on his racer dirt bike also ...

I saw some guys up in Georgetown OHV in CA riding shiny white/yellow/blue 2 strokes. I thought they were already available so I didn't stop to ask. The bikes sounded cool, but the guys were mostly hanging at the staging area. All three of them had matching Husky colored jerseys and pants. I think they were breaking the bikes in and advertising by proxy. They all took a long look as I rode by. I took a long look too and almost rode off the edge of the road. :o

Having bought a new KTM last year from Three Brothers and waiting for it to show up; I would say late March early April. I too am waiting and looking forward to a FE501

The Chicago cycle show is next month and I am hoping to get a peek at some new models there. One would think they would represent but who knows.:excuseme:

I wonder if they will arrive in a trickle or will they be widely available ? I'm not sure what the marketing plan for the Gen 1 of the new Husky will be. I guess time will tell what the deal is for availability.

The first bikes, like those at the Long Beach show were air shipped in. Next assessment came in shipping containers in order to get them out to the racing departments as early as possible. Larger shipments are on their way.

That's cool because I wanna see one in person. I'm not in the market for one, I'm just really interested in seeing what they are like and how they stack up.

I saw them at the Long Beach show a while back. There were four of them in a big empty display area with nobody around....just some brochures stacked near each bike. They looked a lot like the orange ones over at the KTM booth.

I stopped at local dealer today. They said are not attending the dealer meeting 2/2-3 and can't order bikes until 2/4.

I wonder if that applies to every dealer or just your local dealer ? I need to get some parts for my bike tomorrow and will ask my dealer about delivery time. He has said on his web site delivery was expected in mid January. I'll post what he tells me tomorrow.

That is every dealer, I'm sure the factory racers will get their bikes early, the rest will have to wait.
