• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Guy's recommendations please. I have a set of Touratech Bar Risers on my TE630, these risers are 24mm, approx. 1" but I still find them too low, I would like about another 1" higher again. I'm not super tall, 5'10" but just find my arms are fully locked when standing.
I've read through the other threads on this subject, not keen on the Rox Risers due to the way they work independently and could twist in an off. Can anyone reccomend a 2" riser or a high rise handlebar to overcome this. The oem bars appear to have a rise of around 120mm?
Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the Rox risers twisting independently. Using the Husky side to side connected top clamp at bottom mount lessens that from happening. My bike has hit the ground many times without issue. Control perches and barkbusters move but bars stay straight and risers aligned.

Big plus for the low rise Rox risers is you won't have to mess with any cable lengthening or routing. Sounds like 1-3/4" would be enough rise for you also and don't forget the double axis fore/aft adjustment that other risers won't give you. Also the low rise are threaded on inside for attaching dual sport gadgets so if still concerned about twisting you could bolt a support between them.

Thanks for that, good to hear the Rox Risers dont move as i do ilke the flexibility in set up they offer. I may just reconsider.

I've always found the ergo's on our bikes to be a bit weird. If you are short enough to stand on the pegs with the stock bar height and your arm's not locked out I don't think you could even touch the ground to ride it in the first place.

I haven't changed the bar position on mine, but I'd like to. It is too low for standing. But, I am concerned about available cable length without having to reroute a bunch of stuff and make it look sloppy.

Well after Silverbullet's recommendation i've ordered a set of Rox Risers so i'll let you know how i get on.

+ 1 on the rox risers, they made a huge difference to my riding. I don't think they would work with the HDB system without alot of cable and hose routing.

You are correct, I am unable to touch the ground. I stop next to curbs whenever possible or stop with one leg down and the other sticking out. I am sure I look like a little kid.
