• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hancock, NY Vintage MX on 9/2

Hey guys,

For a couple years, a few friends have been asking me to go with them to one of the vintage MX events they attend. Well, today I finally went with them to Hancock, NY. I was only there as a spectator and camera man since I am still recovering from my wreck last month. I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the even't. Everyone that I talked to was nice and very welcoming. Seeing all the old bikes and watching guys ride them was really cool. Kinda like being on the set of On Any Sunday. I have a few bikes that would meet the vintage criteria and for a while I've been kicking around the idea of participating. Now, I am pretty motivated to get a bike ready to ride. Definitely I am looking forward to another vintage MX.

There were a few Husqvarnas running around. Was anyone from this board at the event today? I was wearing the Netra T-shirt and had the Husaberg hat---and walked with a limp---ha ha ha.

Yeap i was racing a 1983 Husky 250 #559 (white milk truck) , won my class too. I saw you at the sign up & heard u say to Dave hay there's a nice Husky. Here's a few pics from 2010.

White milk truck, I was thinking you were driving a black Ford----then I figured it out. Cool bike, we were wondering what size it was. Hopefully next year I will have a vintage Husky ready to ride. There was a 74 Husky 250cr in the trailer, but on that day it was a back-up for my friend's Hodaka.
Here is a pic of some of the guys I came out with. By the way, this pic is legal for this site----you can see the front fender of a Husqvarna through the side door of the trailer.
