• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hammerhead Shifter Tips Tip

Trenchcoat85

Husqvarna
Pro Class
hah.
Anyways, there is a seller on ebay with +10mm hammerhead shifter tips ($5.99 shipped, but they oscillate the prices a lot... I offered $3.99 when they went up to $9.99 and they didn't counter-offer).
http://www.ebay.com/itm/10mm-Offset...ash=item4d405ac84e:g:~7gAAOSwG-1W1g-e&vxp=mtr

these are not anodized and do not have any hardware. but if you wanna rig something up to your stock shifter, like me, then 6 bux is worth the experiment. I got a clevis and a snap ring from the hardware store, & hopefully I can rig the stock torsion spring; else I gotta modify some other spring. I actually was looking for +15mm or +20mm (size 14 boots here- the stock husky shifters are a minor drag).

Did you order one? Thats a hell of a deal to upgrade the pathetically short factory shifter. I wear a size 10 and it's a pain in the butt. It's kind of sad that I can shift my little crf100 easier with my boots on than my Husky!

yeah, I got one a couple of weeks ago- guess I didn't state that explicitly.

actually, just yesterday I started my gear shifter project (I work slow; also I have a few projects going all the time): I bought a roll pin and a clevis to use as the pivot, and some circlips and e-clips too. It looks like the clevis is going to work out- here's the results after coming off my "lathe" (um, rechargeable drill) and adding an e-clip:

I'll probably slap on my after-market shifter next week or so, while I modify the stock shifter to take the longer shifter tip. Might even offset it up when I mount it to give me some additional room.

How does it go with width(gap) as mine I had to shim with washers which eventually chew into the ally then the tip got loose/sloppy. 100 odd hours tho

well, I haven't reached that stage yet (toldja I was slow) but I imagine I'm gonna have the same issues. I'll put the shims/spacers to raise the shifter tip higher, too.

That's a damn good find! I know what my next project shall be. Thanks.
