• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

has anyone put a hammerhead brake tip on their 610. the stock one looks riveted on so surely you could just grind it off and drill out if necessary? something like this should fit or am i missing something?

i just have never seen the brake tip replaced so i am hesitant on ordering.

Is there space for the nut between case and lever? It's pretty tight on my 630. Perhaps you could remove the stud and use a machine screw with a button head from the case side.

That looks pretty nice, but I second what Ken said, very tight fit. Get some measurements on that tip from HH 1st

i just had a look and there appears to be room for the nut as long as the bolt doesnt protrude out any further. might require a little grinding off the end.

ill order one and see how it goes.

Just because it fits doesn't mean it won't stab a hole in your side case if you drop it hard enough... :excuseme:

The factory pedal will put a good ding in the case all by itself, just think what a bolt head would do.
The buttonhead idea may work though, or you could tap the brake arm and loctite in a bolt from the outside so nothing protrudes inward...

The brake is a great looking piece of bling, but I'm wondering if it really accomplishes anything except make the tip a bit larger. When folded it appears to project just as much as the stock tip, which has never been a problem for my boots to find. I guess that's what it is for. Just hold the edge of your boot tight to the bike and you can't miss!

Epoxy on a little chunk of aluminum sheet on the case to prevent that. A semi popular mod for stopping this issue.
