  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I was doing a wheelie in the street and revved it alittle too much and bike flipped out from under me. I went to pick up the bike and i guessed i accidentally revved it and it took of throwing me into some gravel. I have a gash in my forearm and a cut on my knee and sore tailbone. I had gear on so saved me from worse. My bike though has a bent silencer and subframe. Got the subframe bent back pretty good but silencer is pretty bad :( gonna have to ride like that though casue dont have money for new one!

Thats bike riding and sounds like you survived OK and that is the good part ...

Through the yrs, the crashes hurt more and more and about the last crash I had in the Desert 100 in WA hurt really bad, nothing broke on me, but I decided then and there that my crashes had to cease ... Also got tired of screwing my bike up also ..

Good luck and ride safer :0

This thread is worthless without gory photos! :naughty:

Heal up, run the bent silencer til it don't work no more, and work on your wheelie technique

First rule of wheelies- Cover that rear brake!
Once you've flipped over backwards (been there, done that) you'll never forget rule number one.
Post up a pic of that silencer, maybe'll get you some ideas on how to fix it/make it a bit more presentable till you can get a new one.
Most of all, don't stop wheelying, it's one of the great things in life.

Hahah well it popped up so fast I slid off the back before I could get the rear brake. My bike doesn't have a power valve so it doesn't have much down low and have to keep the revs up. I'll try to get some pics tonight only one I have is this

A '91 WXE260 has a power valve. Is yours not functioning? Original tests did say the extra 10 cc's of the 260, made the bike hit harder that the WXE250.
