• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Grip Tape

Gang,

Anyone have a good black grip tape/ product that you are putting on the rub areas, on the lower frame above foot pegs? I am currently using some that I picked up at Home Improvement Store but the grit rubs off right away and it starts to peel? Was almost thinking of going to one of the truck bed, spray on liner places, to see if I could tape it off real neat, and have them shoot the area (they can add color in spray).

Or Is there a sheet you can buy like the ones found on KTM's that I can cut out? Looked at some the other day from Factory Effex but is just like the stuff that is wearing off quick.

Thanx!

Try a skateboard shop for the 3M rubber style grip tape, might last longer since its molded in.

I purchased some at a local skate shop and it only held up for maybe 5 rides. I am not sure it was 3M though and it is worth a shot. Rubber style may be better.

Will check out a skateboard shop this weekend and see what I come up with. Never thought of that and great idea, Riksha!

Raisrx, what I had on there was about the same thing and your right, didn't last long.

Before putting it on. Going to hit it with a little 3M Super 77 spray adhesive to add little more stick.

Thanx!

Called all over the place @ various skateboard shops ( Chicago). We must be in the dark ages cause no one heard of it. I called a KTM dealer and got some from a 07 250 Sx. I will just trim it.

Do you know of any websites that sell it by the sheet so I don't have to spend $75 for whole bunch?

Thanx!
