• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Got it!!!

Picked up my new 2010 SM510R this morning from Yellow Freight, she's sitting in the back of my truck still in the crate!:D I can't see crap, that crate is sealed up like a MoFo-darn. Man I can't wait to get off of work today so I can get home and rip open that box, it's going to be a longggg day....:banghead:

I can totally relate. When my SM610 arrived last summer at my husband's warehouse, I was stuck at work. Longest day at work EVER! At lunch time he had the crate open just enough for me to take a peak. The rest of the day went even slower as I anticipated getting it set up that night and taking my first ride.

Hang in there. It will be worth the wait! Congrats on the new ride.

Best day ever getting a new scoot. Take it easy and savour it. Then go and put a little road use scratch on her so you can now really relax and enjoy her. (last comment is tongue in cheek, however its amazing how after the first scratch you become more relaxed).
Please post pics and ongoing reports on your impressions and bling etc.

 Isn't that the truth! My first real ride on my new SM610 was in the dirt in Nevada. I took photos because I knew it would never look the same. It was slightly painful but now I just thrash it and enjoy it

Congrats on the new bike KCI-John! Good thing you didn't get it yesterday or it really would have been the longest day of the year  Throw up some pics when you get the crate open:)

Well I couldn't stand it any longer, took the rest of the day off, rushed home and ripped the box open! I only got to put about 12 miles on it(no plate yet) but it was a blast! What a great bike she is! Thanks for all the kind comments. Oh, here's a short video;

I am one proud Papa I tell you what! Now here I sit at work again and can't ride it until this evening.....

Hey let me ask you guys; does this darn thing have a neutral light? Saw the green light come on but it only comes on now when I turn the key on, only Neutral indicator I have is the little "N" on the dash.

Solid green light is good...blinking green light bad...:D

The green light is telling you your ECU is happy. If it ever starts to blink (error code) refer back to your manual it should explain it.

Oh ya Nice Ride.

Shes a real darling. Sounds like your bride enjoyed the occassion too. I bet you son will put the bite on you for a ride. Like "hey Dad your out of Scotch, let me run down to the shops (on your bike) and get you a bottle".

My wife loved watching us open the crate and she likes the bike too though she hasn't got up the nerve to ride it yet. My son on the other hand, well he rode it within the first ten minutes!

you are gonna love it!!!

12 miles and I already do my friend-it's "love at first ride". I have other bikes but for some reason I feel a slight tingle in the ole nether regions for this one. :D

Sorry for all the quotes but I can't stand not answering someone, kinda nutty like that. Thanks for all the kind remarks, I plan to make a few videos this weekend and I'll post em up.

Oh yeah, he was keeping an eye on Dad but probably moreso the bike! After he rode the 510 I could see the gears in his head turning-I can see his DRZ being sold or traded in on a Husky in the near future!
