  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Got 2011 TE 310-now what

Picked up new 2011TE 310 today. Sorry to ask this again but what should I remove? I put new air filter in and installed the cage. Can I just remove gas tank breather canister and plug hose at what I think is throttle body? I'll assume removing throttle stop is easy. I am no mechanical dummy. So should I plug sensor on pipe or just ride the bike for a while? thanks.

Hey David.yes just remove the canister and plug one hole in head.very easy.I never rode my bike with the sensor in.The bike runs well, but has a bog down low others have talked about.I have ordered the jd jetting box.I hope this helps.other then that the bike is great!Your going to love the 310.

Thanks Sammy. I have manual but where are instruction to install power up stuff. Pipe plug, throttle stop etc. What about pipe ? Any catalytic convert? I can't believe I spent 8000 and no instructions. Thanks again

Thanks. What about pipe sensor or 02 sensor. Plug it or leave it

If you remove it, insert the plug (is there a cap for the other end of the wiring? dealer did mine... /shrug), that puts the bike in race mode. The display will indicate Race Mode 1. If you warm up the bike and hold down the blue button for a couple seconds, it will switch to Race Mode 2, which i think is less torquey and for muddy conditions, etc. Don't quote me on that.

There is way more power I'm told in race mode. In fact, pretty much everyone says the bike is castrated without it and that you wouldn't want to ride it that way. I've never ridden mine in standard mode, so I don't know. There's some bogging/hesistation in the lower rpms, but that might improve once the bike breaks in and/or with some tuning (ibeat, jd jetting, powercommander, goat sacrifices, whatever).

David, i do have a copy of the power instructions. Happy to email them...just PM me with your email address. Looks like you are almost there.

David.there is a cat between the header and muffler.just remove the muffler and pull it out.you should have got a wire plug/cap with other stuff.it plugs in under the tank.there is a cross-over fuel tube on tank.remember to close both petcocks before you remove the tube.Install the cap and brass plug on header and your done.sammy is my dog.he is super.I am just ordinary.good luck Rob
