• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just a heads-up.

I recently got an email from "WMR Performance" in Stuart, Florida. This email was specifically about them having, stocking, and selling this brand and that they are a "Golden Tyre" dealer and importer. So are a few others as well. Many of which are sold out of this tire or are waiting for shipments that they can't give an ETA of when these tire shipments will be available.

I've been on a waiting list for one for several months with no updates to go with it for several months on any ETA. Even when calling.

So consequently I called them "WMR" and asked specifically for the GT 216AA- 90/100/21 "Fatty" front tires availability. They have over 120 of them on a pallet in the state which will be there in their shop within a few days. Compound # is GOP 3176.

I ordered one, price is $100.00, drop shipping was $19.00 to AZ. from Florida. I was told it shouldn't be more than a few days.

Number to reach "Ryan" at WMR Performance is(772) 426-3003.

All the GT dealers will really need to start to bring these things in line with the other premium brands asap.
Why? because the other premium brands and even the not so premium brands like Maxxis all ready have FIM homologated pattern tires all they need to do is build them in fatty size 90/100-21. Hint from what I understand Michelin all ready builds them, they just are not for outside of EU export.

The importer is searching for distributors and has found a couple so far in different regions. Hopefully when they get moving it will speed up.

Yep, If you look up the online dealer network. More than half of the phone calls you will make the listed dealer no longer carries them. They have to buy a boatload at a time. 1 or 2 answering the phones may have a few on hand and will sell for a decent price but it will be all rear tires they can't get rid of.

As for the front 216 AAHB Fatty. The last 1 I got, was marked with 216AA M 3828-01 in the size 90/100/21 M/C 57R. "Made in Korea". Distribution of compounds is the mystery to me. I have sand washes like crazy here. In high desert conditions. Florida has lots of sand too. Sort of makes sense.

I'm sure the mark-up on these is more than any other tire out there. Just due to the amount of phone calls all these people get that they can't fill the requests. They seem to gouge at you when it comes to the price.

Examples of this are pretty damned obvious.

Steve,
You're right, a few of the other tire companies actually make a 90/100/21" tire but the GT 216 AA seems to actually measure up to be more like its a size bigger compared to others. As if it was a 100/110/21" It has a taller side wall and overall circumference too, as well as a wider carcass.
