• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
Pro Class
This was my first hare scramble in a couple years, it was also my first ever long course hare scramble. It was one hell of a fun time with all sorts of variety. I ended up finishing 5th out of 16 in the 200b class and had an absolute blast doing it. I had planned on a 2-1/2 hour race and was a bit worried when I heard they bumped it up to 3 hours. I rode 9 laps around the 7 mile course and had some cramping in my legs the last few laps. I made one stop for fuel, downed a power bar gel and headed out. It was the most fun I have ever had racing. :applause:

While the short course was racing I rode around and took pictures, while I should have been hydrating.

My friend Ben's writeup on the race is here and his article about local pro rider Anthonee Gibbs fun with a flat tire is here...

A few favorites from the short course...

Sweep class winner...:smirk:

 I thought that was the best part! That looks like the stuff we do here in the city when no one is looking...we call it Urban Enduro

By the way, the first kid pictured in the long course highlights (light blue gear on a KTM) is my friend Scott. I won't tell you how I recognized him

Did not look big enough to be Jeff. Why did he skip the dock jump?

I used the myspace angles to make him look smaller...

It was scary? He was worried about the KTM kicking him over the bars? :D

I am not sure really, quite a few people didn't do it.

Later,

The dock jump and the industrial section look like the funnest parts.... we never get to see mud like that down here..... that woudl be fun......

the big paved section looks like the invasion beaches at Normandy!

Great pics!

The dock jump looks like if you carry some speed, the compression is less and therefore, the landing is softer overall.

I'd probably hesitate if I didn't know it was there. Then if someone triple dog dared me, I would be thinking, "Eddie Would Go".:D

I thought it was one of those PNW low rider bikes out for a Sunday cruise.

That course had everything, cool pics and thanks for the post!!R
