• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Thomas Sticks It Out in Ohio
Podium Finish for FAR Husqvarna's Jason Thomas at Powerline Park GNCC

October 10, 2011 - Corona, CA - It was no surprise to see Jason Thomas and his TXC250 take the early lead in the XC2 class on his FAR Husqvarna at the Power Line Park GNCC in Ohio. But it was unexpected when he became firmly stuck in a mud hole on the first lap and spent a full two minutes trying to free his bike from the mud.

Thomas put his head down and charged to eighth place by the end of the first lap, and was steadily gaining ground. The FAR team's pit strategy allowed Thomas to only pit once throughout the race, and helped him push all the way back up to a podium position. Thomas had closed to within one minute of second place, but ran out of time and had to settle for third on the day.

"I made a big mistake that cost me the race today," Thomas lamented. "I rode hard today just to get third."

With just two races remaining in the series, Thomas still sits second in the XC2 Pro Lites championship, and is looking forward to pushing hard through the end of the season.

"Jason and the FAR Husqvarna team have been working hard and it shows," commented Husqvarna National Marketing Manager Corey Eastman. "Although third place isn't what they were looking for, we're all really proud of their 'never quit' mentality - that's what wins championships."

After getting firmly lodged in a mud hole on the first lap, Jason Thomas pushed hard to get his FAR Husqvarna TXC250 on the podium at the Power Line Park GNCC.

The team's pit strategy paid off as Thomas only had to make one stop in the seven-lap race.

Never give up. Great personal and team effort!
Mudholes/stuck in mud, has got to be the most physically taxing offroad moto issues that we can deal with, it just sucks the energy right out.

Thank you to all the mud people for helping out. I was the honorary mud person at an Arbor Day Kegger one year(huge inside joke to any of the 10K people there).
