Hi everyone,
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

A great day of Husky racing for sure. Also in the afternoon race, 1st in 4st A lites & Vet B, 3rd in B200, 4th in Bopen, 8th in 4st B lites and 8th&9th in A200. The morning race had a 1st in Master A(3rd overall****************************************) 2nd& 4th in 35+ C, 3rd in Women & 3rd in 60+. Spent the day hanging out with Guscycle & his son. Andrew was determined to make up for last year. Got tangled up in a 2nd turn pile up & went into the woods about 35th. End of the first lap was 5th, only 18sec from the lead. At the end of lap 6, had a 1min3sec gap on 2nd. Thanks to FAR for showing everyone how fast we know these bikes are!!!

I thought it was cool that Mx'ers Zach Osbourne led prolites and eventually finished third. Jessica Patterson won the Women's Pro division in her first-ever GNCC. Cool.!

DeLong had his work cut out for him after crashing in the second turn and heading into the first lap nearly dead last. "We have seen AD come from last and win so we were not too worried," commented team manager Fred Andrews. "Three hours in the sand is a strong man's race."
Andrew certainly proved to be the strongest, despite a solid challenge from factory pro motocrosser Zach Osborne, who held the lead until lap four. After a quick pit stop, the two went toe-to-toe for the XC2-class lead.
"Joe [Maurer, FAR mechanic] told AD, 'it's time to put the hammer down!'" Andrews said. "AD took off out of the pits with Zach on his rear fender and had his TXC250R flying!"
DeLong relied on his training and was able to push hard at the end of the race, building a significant lead by the time the white flag came out. "I have been busting my butt training," DeLong said. "I was not worried about getting tired today. I just followed them after I caught up from my crash in turn two. We all worked hard and it paid off. My TXC250R was awesome!"
Andrew wasn't the only DeLong got on top of the podium in Florida - FAR Husqvarna support rider Craig DeLong claimed the 4-stroke A Lites victory aboard his TXC250R. Teammate Nick Davis made an effort to race, but is still nursing an injured foot. But he and the rest of the FAR Husky team plan to be ready for round two of the GNCC Series this weekend in Georgia.
But not only the DeLong family was successful on Husqvarnas at River Ranch. Evan Earl jumped in the 200B class with his third place on the podium, as well as David Galiano who secured the victory in the Vet B (30+) class. Already in the morning William Lackey and Richard Zelenznik did a Husqvarna 1-2 finish in the Super Vet (35+) class, Vance Earl won the Masters A (50+) race and Albert Chuppa finished third in the Golden Masters (60+) class.

Nice to see! Andrew is very deserving. It's nice to see him beat his former team mate Jason Thomas. If Andrew hadn't missed the first few races last year due to injury, he'd probably be defending an XC2 Championship! Go Husky!

I just talked to Mrs Wetzel ( Old Wetzel Husky Dealer in Mentor, Ohio) about 6 mos ago about Al.
On my bucket list, is to get all 5 of my old Vintage Husky's restored and do a ride with some old legends back home.

KTM has won probably 10X more races than Husky in the last 5 years. I don't get this "KTM is crap" attitude. I own and love Husky, and have never owned a KTM, but give credit where credit is due. They were 1st and 2nd overall in XC2 last year, 2nd and 3rd in XC1. Delong was the only guy in the top 10 in either of those classes on a Husky.
I like Husky. A lot. But "the only way they can win"? No, they're doing just fine at winning.

..I won't hesitate to say this..I am almost 100% SURE that if Andrew had competed at the first 2 rounds of the GNCC series,he would have had the title in XC2.Andrew consistently was riding within' the top 5-6 XC1 times(I believe he has had a few 3-4 overall times as well).Not taken away from Jason ,but some of his lack luster finishes on the KTM almost cost him the overall but he had gained most of his good year end points while he was still on Husky.One more thing,KTM has a ENORMOUS following..so they should be doing extremely well..add factory teams and factory support,the odds are astronomical...now throw Husqvarna into that,with a "small" team ,such as F.A.R.,with decent support(still not as much as some KTM support teams)..and how many Husky's that are owned/raced with only dealer support and finish well.I look at these numbers,plus the fact I am a die hard,never going to change my mind kinda Husky guy,and it adds up to this..HUSQVARNA IS BETTER..PERIOD.
Oh by the way,give Nick Davis a chance..he was picked up by Fred to fill the void for his 2 man team when Jason left.Fred wanted a good young rider that possibly could be groomed by him and Andrew Delong ...so when Delong moves into XC1,they will have a man for the job.

Oh, I agree, Andrew should have won XC2 last year, and I think he will have a very good chance of winning this year, assuming there are no big issues. Both he, and the bikes, are very, very good.
I am not starting a Husky vs. KTM argument, or trying to say one is better than the other. However, the simple fact is that KTM wins a lot. Statements like "if that's the only way they can win" just don't make any sense in a rational conversation.

KTM makes great bikes and they do win a lot. But if you look at the number of entries by brand, Husqvarna has a very high percentage on the podium. Not taking anything away from KTM but it is pretty amazing what the Husky riders accomplish and if we don't toot the horn nobody else will.

Im hoping that Nick Davis can get on the BOX this year too, I think he can do it! Think about this for a quick second. XC2 class had only 1 husky in it and consequently it won! So thats like batting 1000 right? KTM had 9 in class one 1 got on the box. Im no math wiz but when a small brand comes out and lays the wood down on the entire class thats something that you can toot the ole horn at!
