  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Getting a Fail Error Message

River-Runner

Husqvarna
AA Class
2012 TE511. Just put an ECU reflash in. I get a Fail Error message immediately after starting it. I have a Trail Tech Vapor instrument panel mounted right in front of the stock panel and usually don't pay attention to the stock panel, so I could have been getting the fail before the ECU reflash and just didn't notice it. I have also had the air box off, etc. to install the Zip-T oil return kit - so I could have screwed up something - it could happen.......

Bike runs great - better than ever, front end comes up like it never has before with just the throttle. No, the bike runs like it is a different animal....We put the 12 hole injector and ECU upgrade in our 310, but it didn't make a difference like this....thanks Zip-T...

Why does the stock instrument panel display Fail? Ideas on things to check?

Make sure the connector for the inlet air temp is connected. It is a probe type sensor in the top half of the airbox.
Check any other plugs you've had undone.....

Fail, is a warning for ECU faults.
These can be incorrect readings from sensors, open circuits, grounded wiring etc. & less commomly, failed ECU.

You 'da Mouse!

While it is currently behind the plastic - I know I didn't reconnect the air temp sensor - Thanks very much. I looked very hard at the butterfly plate while the airbox was off per your prior posts and will think about that, but wanted to run it with only Tinken's reflash. Holy Cow! That flash of my ECU made a HUGE difference in my bike.

Thanks Mouse!

No worries, good to hear :-)

Torque down in the lower & mid-range is what the butterfly mod did for mine. A massive improvement.
