• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Gettin Back Into Street - 630

Well, sold my '07 690sm a few years back and just focused on Track with my '04 450smr - Been keeping an eye out for something that might fill the gap after I sold the KATOOM - Well, I found it in the 630

Picking up my new scoot next Sat the 17th - Already shopping for Cosmetic Mods like Mirrors and Fender Elim

The bike has less than 600 miles on it with:

- Leo Slip
- PC 5 w/Auto Tune
- Been "Power Up'ed" (see ya Lambda)
- ASV Levers
- Luggage Rack (this one threw me a bit)

Has all the goodies I wanted and is good to go - Excited to get back to stupid crap in the City

This site rocks - Already found a TON of great info - Pics of the Bike in a week

I am curious about the PC V. I was ready to get one for my KTM 990 but realized I couldn't maximize the bike's potential without dyno time.
Is this upgrade common amongst the 630 owners. Have fun!!

I have read up on here and a few other boards of cats doing it many diff ways with the tune - Not sure I get what you mean by maximizing the bike without a Dyno - Every bike Inhave ever loaded a map into and tuned was all done by going out and ripping thru the gears and feeling it in ever situation possible - 3rd to 2nd then "Hit" - 4th roll on, etc etc until I found the one that made the bike perform the best

I know it is not the "technical" way t tune but has always worked for me by tinkering

an alternative is the JD tuner which from my experience works exceptionally well to adjust the fuel metering for your engine, exhaust and intake mods.

I have been searching on here as well as a few other sites and see Husky makes a CF skid plate for smaller bikes but not the 610/630 - I have been looking at the Uptite and a few others but seeing as this will be a street scoot, I am looking for CF or flat black - Not the "Metal" look

Suggestions other than the obvious "Rattle Can"?

If I wasn't going off road, I'd just look for a plastic one. Not sure what your options are.

It is all about the show for this piece for me - I think with the Black Frame of the 630, a black skid plate tucked up in there would look sharp for mono pics - Kudos to you cats for the Mirror threads too - Ordering a set from Moto-Science tomorrow - Then will come a home made Tail Tidy - Though I was done with the street until I saw that 630 and a low ball offer got accepted - Stoked to say the least

Hyde Racing makes a black plastic skidplate, I've got one on my SMS:

Gracias Amigo - Your Bike is done up nicly - I dig it the most

Do you remember if yours plate is the HP-SG-102? - Seems to be the only model for '11

HP-SG-99, $103.99
It lists for the 610/630.
You will probably have to dremel/file a notch for the shifter arm to clear though, mine pushed it a bit on downshifts

DOH - I am an idiot - I was reading the "Year Charts" wrong - Thx man and thx for the tip on the shifter arm

Took the advice off the Mirror Thread and ordered the Moto-Science and they have got to be one the EASIEST Companies I have ever used on the Web - Guy was answering my emails over the weekend in off hours - Sent me a PayPal Invoice (i just like when they do that) and got them shipped out the same day i placed the order

Debating on Hand Guards (might be nice to save the ASVs when I toss it down the road) but will def get the above plate

Also, the Air Box Opening Mod has me thinking too - Esp with the PC5 and Auto Tune already on the scoot

Realized I forgot to throw up pics - Been ripping this bike every day since I brought it home on Sat - Just shy of 700 miles so still breaking in but can real feel it coming to life - Torn if I want to take the inserts out as it is VERY quiet now and I am not one to watch a Tach - I typically go off the sound of the motor and cannot believe where I am in the Rs compared to the sound it makes

Also, just ordered the PitPosse Screens for the AirBox Cover and need to mess with the Susp as it is stock setting aka JELLO

I hear you about the suspension! I sent mine out to Dave at FastBikes to get comp adjusters put in and get revalved. Night and day difference. Much more predictable and no po-going!
