• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Proud new owner of 99 te410. came with with some mikuni carb installed that the needle obviously isnt seating properly on BUT it also came with the original phf 36 WITH

130 main 50 slow 75 choke jet k35 needle

Will any of this work well from 500-1100 feet? Should I get a pmh series? I had a 2k 410 that was totally sorted and I regret selling it - IDK what carburetor/jetting it had though!!! This jetting seems waaaay different from what people are saying is factory and I am betting previous owner tried this carb due to no success with the Dell'orto.

My phm40 works MINT on my 01 570 - I really want to set my dell up for the 410 if this phf will work properly. Thanks!!! Love them left kicks...

I would put the phf back to stock it should be close for your needs. I bet the owner was trying to improve the starting with the messing around. The 95-99 models were finicky starters because of the electronics.

Got an array of Jets and needles on order thanks for the advice.

Can I also ask - the electronics changed in the year 2000 and in the micro fiche find the 99 model shows a box behind the front number plate - but the 2000 model has no such part or assembly or am I missing something? People say they swap the 2000 electronic unit into the previous year but I don't see the part.

The CDI and coil are combined on the 2000 and newer models so it eliminated the box behind the number plate.

keep a look out for a keihin fcr that suits the 410. my 610 has the 41. was easy to jet and tune and it makes power everywhere haha. just a thought

The carb installed is a phm 38...

Anyone have the procedure for swapping in the coil? I'll play with carbs and jetting but I'm not very good with electricity. I will do my best in the meantime thanks for the support.

Update@@!!! Comprehensive 99 TE410 stock jetting

Returned the bike to stock with the phf36 - Got a brand new unit on ebay for $192.00 USD shipped. Swapped everything in stock 170 main 60 slow K32 2nd postition from top.
You cannot go by the book for setting the float height. It is either wrong or incomprehensible setting that float height. I merely popped the bowl off and attached a clean hose to the fuel inlet to blow through. Then, I set the bottom of the float to be just below the pilot jet as air I was forcing through the fuel line was blocked by the needle seating via bending the tab. She finally purrs and I hope this helps someone else. The bike seems like new and I will report back if I find hard starting issues/magneto failure or anything else interesting.

Nice to hear shes running well! I think the hard starting is carb related! Magnets slip on ducati ignitons, reglueing fixes this. Sems just straight fail lol
