  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Gas cap

Ok cool but is other people having the same problem here?

Yep, on my 08 TE250. We put wire in there like someone else suggested and it's held fine so far.

I had the same problem with my 09 te 250. I just took a ziptie and ziptied it by the radiator and it did not come off again. Sounds like between all these posts you shoud be good to go!

Did anyone ever figure out compatibility of caps for the husky? I have a 2008 TE 450 that the vent hose nipple broke off and am looking to buy a new cap. Would love to try a aluminum one but don't want to spent a ton. The tusk caps look nice but they don't list one for my bike. I see above that people have looked at it but have not come to a solid answer. Any help would be great.

I got one of these to fit my stock 2010 TE 450 gas tank.

Acerbis Gas Cap - Large 2070749999

Large cap fits Acerbis, Clarke and ATK fuel tanks

Thanks for the reply. I had Emailed Acerbis and asked. They reported that the large cap fit. I have since purchased it and yes it does fit. I believe they said that their large cap fits 2008 and on.
