  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hello guys! Have anyone tried the G2 tamer throttle grip? I bought one as i felt that my 300 could be a bit to "happy" on the throttle when i get really tired in the Woods. It felt good when i took a short testride on the road yesterday, but i will get back after a real Woods riding day:

Yes. Installed 400 cam on my 510. Works well and gives noticably more control in the lower rev range. I've swapped between the stock, 200 and 400... and I prefer the 400 for that bike.

I have the 400 on my WR, and I won't go back to stock. On the MX track or in the desert the stock cam might be fine, but it was borderline scary/dangerous for me in the woods, especially on rocky or whooped-out stuff.

I was concerned that the 400 would make the bike feel "lazy," but I have not noticed that at all.

Sorry for the resurrection/hijack, what part number did you get, by-the-way? I've been to their site, and the selections are really confusing. There's two different SKUs that would cover my model year (2009) WR. I also contacted their support and they said I need the KTM 2 stroke SKU -- WTH? :excuseme:

The KTM reference is just because it's a Domino two stroke throttle assembly.

Overview of G2 Ergonomics Tamer Throttle Tube - 20-4X-2STR
  • Introduces a non-linear ratio between hand throttle and the carb or throttle body opening
  • Evens out the abrupt initial power delivery to increase traction and control
  • Throttle cams radius is reduced initially, which requires the rider to rotate the throttle slightly further to get the same opening position as stock; the radius increases after half-throttle to keep the full throttle position at or near stock
  • Includes a machined billet aluminum throttle tube with a knurled surface and a 400 throttle cam
  • Removable end cap allows easy handguard installation
