  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I get 120 to 130 km's out of a tank with the 40 tooth rear sprocket and around 95 km's with the 51 tooth sprocket on general trail riding hope this helps.

I get about the same in the dirt (with 50t on rear). Where do you live, should try and organise a ride?
I live Eastern suburbs and usually ride Toolangi area.
 
yep 80 ks is all i get to thought i would get more then that just fitted a jd tuner will see this weekend if it makes any difference.
gday robert i live at carrum mostly ride nerrim or erica and welshpoole havnt rode toolangi is that up yarraglen way
 
Victoria semms to have plenty of good places to ride to SA isnt the same I should try to get over there one day with my bike. Also sorry I have the 50 tooth rear as well not 51 but I am loking at getting a 47 just to see how that goes and will post the results when I have done it. I amalso close to finishing a mod to the oil drain plug/hose so I will post that as well when done which will be hopefully this weekend.
 
You are getting some pretty good economy over the 100 k's, I am running stock gearing 13 - 47 on a 2010 TE450 in power up mode and only getting 75 k's before the idiot light comes on

PS.. thats on 98 octane
 
the drain plug on these is a pain .im running 13 and 50 which im happy with but 80 kms is just a little short for the riding i do

Will be interesting to see how you mod the oil hose, I have some ideas, but would like to see how you did it?
Your right, Vic has LOTS of places to ride, best of all is the High Country.
