• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Fuel pump - plastic elbows

Hope this is in the correct place on the site.

I have been trying to get spares for the plastic elbow in the fuel pump but it isn't listed as a separate part in the Husqvarna catalogue.

I was speaking with dealers here (UK) and it seems that there may be a Sherco part that can be fitted. Also, seemingly, the elbow in question is listed as an individual item in the Sherco catalogue.

The fuel pump assembly is reported to be very similar between the marques. I'm going to be checking mine the afternoon and I'll add to this if I find anything more.

Thanks for the link and I did have a look at it. The thing is that I dont want to have to atempt that on the trail. I thought that spares and direct replacement would be the way to go. Especially as I have and event coming off and I'm trying to think of the spares to take with me.
As it turns out the Sherco item is available and has been identified as the correct part. I have ordered up a couple - just incase?

how much were the replacements? I was gonna go with brass ones threaded in if I ever break the stocker. Fix it once and be done approach.

Any chance of posting up the Sherco part number?

Bringing back and old thread......but did this Zipty fuel elbow ever work? Any possible follow up? thanks! (just busted mine yesterday :( )

I ordered an OEM replacement and put it in my spares.
Then I ordered the ZipTy metal one (I used the special orings from my new spare OEM one)
Ty has opened the angle slightly to make it easier to deal with. Its 100% worth getting the metal replacement ZipTy manufactured one.

Buy and install the ZipTy part!!

PS Long nosed angle extended needle nose pliers modified with bent in tips work great to unlock the fitting.

I thought you couldn't get OEM elbows? Are you talking about the Sherco one? If so do you have a part number for the OEM???? If that Zipty works it would be perfect!

Halls-cycles definitely can help you. I broke mine off my 2011 TC250. Got a replacement in really fast from them. Came in white instead of red though (no biggie). Shoot them an email. Good luck!

Great thread! I just broke mine removing the gas tank with very little pressure!! Just ordered the replacement from ZipTy.

FYI, I did the same but the Zip-Ty aluminum elbow didn't fit tightly enough into the pump assembly. Also, on my bike the elbow was too tall. It didn't clear part the frame because it stuck out too far. Hopefully it works for you though!

I had similar issue when I went to install mine. You should rotate the elbow so it clears the frame, I re-routed/realigned the fuel hose and the tank fits much better. It took me about half an hour to fiddle with it to get it to work since the tank would not seat correctly. The hose has very little give. The aluminum fitting is the only way to go.
