• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The next event in the OMRA Dualsport series by Bills Motorcycles Plus is this weekend, June 23-24 at Ft. Rock, Oregon. This is also an AMA Husqvarna Dualsport event.

The BMP team will be there and we hope to see some of our other Cafe Husky friends too.

Ft. Rock is a high desert environment and the course will be on a combination of desert and wooded trails plus gravel and dirt roads. Dont expect to spend much time on pavement.

Those of you who are alert (and old ) might notice that Ft. Rock is the site of the original John Wayne version of True Grit. The distinctive fort like rock landform is visible in some scenes of that film.

Had great time at Fort Rock AMA Dualsport put on by LOBOs MC and National Sponsor Husqvara. Local guy Steve 'Excuvator' Peterson riding his Husky TE610 was top points and trophy winner{see pics}. I rode a new 2012 Te449, Jason Dahners and Dave Hilton (BMP mechanic) rode 2012 Te310s and had a blast also. The Lobos are a great group and hope they have a lot of young guys coming up to carry on the good work. BillF

PS Other pics my grandson Shanyn turned 4 years old Saturday and just happened to have a cherry little Husky Boy 50 stashed for the occasion. We put a Batman sticker on the front fender, he was heard singing in bed that night "Granpa got me a new Batman Husky mini bike for my birthday song" What fun!!

Nice win Steve**************************************** Glad you had a great time Bill. I got my TE511 out in the Gorge area for some fun in the sun. That thing is such a wheelie machine. Love it.
