• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Fred Hoess back on a Husky!

Norman Foley

Husqvarna
Pro Class
One of the longest serving (off and on)Husky riders, Fast Freddy was back on a Husky for the first time in over six years for the Noble Woods National Enduro in Maine. Riding a stock 2010 TXC250 Demo bike from Town and Country Cycles in NJ, he finished 11th in the Pro Class, beating Factory Husky rider Glenn Kearney by one position. Fred had been Husky's last Factory rider in the US, but that Team ceased in '04. He then rode Gas Gas, Husaberg ('07 Dixie Distributing handled Gas Gas and Husaberg) and the Kawasaki. Nice to see Fred back on a Husky and I hope Husky US gives him some support!

Glen's bike has some Zip Ty engine mods and Dyno Jet engine management system according to a mag article I recently read.

fred is running an HGS pipe,we talked to glenn as we were on his line,he told me the power commander was the single best thing they did to his bike to eliminate any hesitation or bogging,it sounded so crisp

Fred got 11th O/A and Glen 12th O/A........7th and 8th in AA rspectiveley. There were some local 4 AA "ringers" in betwen them that got 7th to 10th O/A. both were flying.
Maybe Cafe Husky gang should sponsor Fred?......(If everyone gave a dollar....hmnnn?)

Was Fred at the Vintage Motorcycle Days last month?
The short story....
He was invited, but got stranded out west waiting for truck repairs and couldn't get a flight to attend.
