  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st Frame paint husky wr 1999.

Nordman

Husqvarna
A Class
I plane to make my somewhat old husky shine this summer, and some of the things i have to do is to paint some spots on the frame.
Its in good condition, but as you expect from a 15-16year old bike there are some spots here and there that started to rust because paint is gone..
Im wondering, does anyone know what paint husqvarna used on the frame?

And clutchcover. Anybody know?

Thanks. :)

it would be really hard to say...probably something baked on. the older swedes had paint on the engine and covers that was as tough as the cases themselves. had to be lead based! or powder coat...

Yup try taking a cover into a powder coaters and get a match, then strip the frame and everything else you want that colour (color) and enjoy fresh hard paint.
Its suprising how cheap some companys do it for.

I feel its a bit overkill to paint the whole frame, 95% of the frame is in good shape. Its just some small ares paint is missing i wanna fix before it becomes a problem in the future.
Nothing is cheap in norway, but the pro's could paint the covers because i dont have equipment to powdercoat if i wanna go that far. As for the frame, i wanna do it my self. :p

im sure you guys in norway dont have the same stuff available as we do in the states, but at my local napa parts store they have a decent line of paints. i painted my frame and engine cases myself and they are holding up well. just do it when its warmer out and not too humid.
