  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Footpegs on a te510

Husqvarna
Hello all. New member, just picked up a 1500 KM 09 or 2010 te510 with the non Beemer engine. Guy changed the oil every 10 hours. Valve lash is right in the middle of spec. He put lots of great stuff on the bike, bigger tank, very cool skid plat, bark busters, power up, tiny turn signals etc. Gearing is stock. Changed the counter to a 14 , and waiting on a 15. This bike is a hooligans dream come true. Self restraint required. Funny that a bike with this much torque was given such close ratios on the transmission though. My last bike was a CR 450R and it had only 4 speed transmission. Guess that ayes me huh?

I need to install passenger pegs on this bike, and I am thinking there must be sets of these all over the place as no one but a nutter would put a passenger on this. (let alone his 52 year old wife of 30 years) We use the bike to get over to our cabin via the ferry. Much cheaper, and first on first off and no lining up to get on the boat when it's overloaded. Bike ride is only 15 minutes so I figure she can handle that. Meanwhile once over there I will hit the logging roads.

Also need some kind of very small rack on the back. I will make one fit from a 630 unless there are better options out there?

I have a ups/fedex account (send collect) so if there is a set of peg brackets out there I would give them a good home and my wife will hate on you all the way from Vancouver b.c.! Also have pay pal if someone wants to sell them or the rack?

Is this a 'where can I buy?' thread?

If this is a 'foot pegs wanted' thread I'd appreciate it if those types of things were put in the classifieds, because years from now when people are searching for technical information for the bikes the 'wanted' type of threads would be in the results... long after people found the parts they were searching for.

Just an introduction of myself to a new site, and general inquiry. I have found that husky do offer pegs for this model, and purchased a set for about 100 bucks a side all in.

Cheers steve
