• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FMF vs Arrow muffler

JTS1

Husqvarna
B Class
Anyone ever heard the two side by side? What do they sound like in comparison. One louder than the other, deeper sound etc. Trying to decide which way to go..

Here's a nice write-up by a former Husky owner

So looking at chart the Arrow can be hushed more than FMF. I know its a matter of preference but which one has a better sound. Looking for the deeper throaty sound. Thx for the info.

The sound was just one of the aspects I didn´t like about my 630. The Arrows are not just lighter, the sound is a bit louder but most people say that it´s more acceptable, throatier and deeper. Apart from the Arrows being stamped road legal (which is important here in Europe), the police have never remarked on the noise (have been stopped quite often).

I've heard a TE310 and a TCX250 with fmf's. Powercore4 and Q4's. I have an arrow on my TE 510. I know there displacements going throw the sound off, but it seems that every fmf on a four stroke, Husky or not, has a deeper thump than the Arrow pipe. Even my powercore 4 for my crf100 has a deeper thump! The Arrow is way sexier than the fmf!

I think the Arrow pipes that came in the '08 p/u kits are the best ever made for our bikes. The Arrows with the s/a shimmed to stop the rattling sound so awesome, and preform excellent! The best can ever for the bullet proof Cagiva motor.
