  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FMF Q4 on TE449?

yep, louder than the akra. Seems to run great and I only have the plug in race mode part installed so far< I have a JD to install.
Thanks for the input.
Could you let me know when you get the tuner installed?
If you notice any change.

Hey Joseph, Did you notice much change in overall power or power delivery with the switch to the FMF? Also, do you have a guestimate on how much weight was saved by switching from the stocker?

Yikes. The Akra is NOT quiet IMO. Husky needs to get some quieter mufflers on their bikes IMO.

While it could be quieter, I find that my TXC511 with Akro is substantially quieter than anything Ive raced/ridden around except the 200 KTM 2-strokes with 'hockey stick' silencers on them. Pretty easy to sneak up on the typical booming 450 KTM/Honda/Yamaha....

Slight Hijack but I'd be interested if anyone has put a Q4 on their X-Lite TE250 or 310. The stock pipe is waaay too loud, and the "dB killer" is only good as a paperweight.

I have used the q4 on both the 250 and 310's. It has a different tone to it but I'm not sure I would say its much if any quieter. Runs good and if you believe that they are meeting the 93db then all is good.

The only muffler that is quieter on the TE250 is the Leo Vince with the optional insert. The q4 is not quieter than the stocker.

The pipe is much lighter. I did not weigh it but picking the two up seems to be over 5 pounds differance. That our bikes are only 10 pounds more than a Honda 450x 5 pounds helps. Feels pretty good with power, but could use the tuner,
