  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I install these on all my bikes. Quite, (the OEM is too loud) USFC approved, light weight (1.5 lbs over the TE 250 OEM muffler), and a great price point.

Were you able to notice a difference in power with new pipe? Where did you purchase it from and how much?

That's the Power Core 4 s/a ??? Which model was a direct replacement for the 09 (wasn't obvious on FMF or TT's website)... Thanks! My stock has gotten tooooo loud!

How much quieter than stock is it? The stock 2010/2011 TXC/TE 250's are way too loud in my opinion. I hope this makes the bike in line with prior year TE's.

Not much really..........After putting a few miles on it. If your looking for quite, this is not the solution, maybe the FMF Q4.

So the the FMF Q4 pipe is much quieter than the Stock OEM pipe on 2010 TE models (I have the 250). I want a quieter one but also don't want to lose too much power. I have a JD Powersurge tuner so I'm pretty sure tuning it wouldn't be a problem, just hope there isn't too much power loss but still a quieter ride?

Any more comments from riders who got the FMF Q4 pipe installed?

I like your sidepannel graphics where'd you get them>???
Yes very clean NEW bike- original air filter and oil?
WHen you say the fmf is "light weight (1.5 lbs over the TE 250 OEM muffler)" do you mean the fmf is 1.5lbs lighter than the OEM exhaust?

I have a Q4 on my '10 te250 (4-sale) and now my '11 te310. I can't say they got any quieter over the stock exhaust but the overall tone changed in my opinion.

I run the Q4 on both of my 2011 txc 250s along with the powerbomb header. I have noticed power gains on the low end (where these bikes need it) without loosing any power in the midrange or top top end. The pipes are quiet around 95db mark at 4500 rpm. I have run the leovince and I prefer the Q4. If you ride in a place with sound restrictions the q4 is the way to go. If not, I'd go with the FMF Factory 4.1 which has great power gains all over the curve but it is impossible to get to pass the 96db limit no matter which insert you use.
