• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Florida GNCC live laps...going on now. 2:35 East Coast time

3:00
1 hour and 30 minutes into it...4 laps... Glenn K in the lead...JT 2.8 seconds back, Stew B on their tail...

that was brilliant, 4 me as a race fan things are really shaping up, 2YAMs,3KTMs,2HUS,1HON,1HBG,1BET in the top ten OA.
Dont know about all of you but Im tired of 1 or 2 brands being all over the US racing score cards. Glad to see more brands at the tip of the spear.
GK podiums XC2!!!

I do not want to bash on Stu Baylor...he is fast...but there is no way in hell with the time deficit he had with 3 laps to go ,he not only made it to pass by Jason and Glenn, but was able to catch the top 2 XC1 riders lap times to finish 3 rd overall...something screwy going on here.Glenn and Jason were at the top of their game today...and if it weren't for a downed, lapped rider ,they would have at least finished 2,3!"Several others" commented on Stu's time differance...and I could tell by the reaction of Jason's face during the conversations that he thought there was something amiss. If anyone thinks the Huskys are slow after this, need to have their head examined.Even though the start left many riders down in front of Glenn and Jason, they fought from a 12/14 position to lead the pack for a few laps before the 3/4 finishes.GREAT JOB ,NOT ONLY BY THE F.A.R. TEAM ,BUT ALL THE HUSKY RACERS:applause::cheers: :banana:Guscycle

P.S Met another CafeHusky member,street2dirt,great guy and hope you post some race action soon!

Yea, I got a couple pics. Also did a hand-held contour experiment. Took about 15 short clips, we'll see how they turn out, haha. Good to meet guscycle, not many of us in this neck of the woods. Like gus said, was some good racing and you could tell JT left it all on the track, he was DONE at the finish. The bikes looked great and were really, really fast.

Yeah, and maybe in about 10 years all my friends that ride KTM's will notice Husqvarnas racing successes around the world!

I do not want to bash on Stu Baylor...

Well then don't.

The young man has won two Nat'l Enduros this year, beating legends and pros in their prime. He proved last year he was among the fastest in GNCC with an overall podium and many good performances. You factor in the speed he's had plus his brother pushing him plus KTM not really supporting him like they should be plus not having the money to go to races. His mental focus is sharp right now. Anyone appreciates things more when you have to earn them. He's earning his this year.

I mean really, how do you post that about Stu with what he's done at the Nat'l Enduros this year???

Stu is fast. Make no mistakes. After the first National Enduro that he won, on that following Monday morning KTM Team manager Antti Kallonen got a call from the corporate bosses at HQ wanting to know why Baylor wasn't dressed in KTM garb on the victory podium. Antti had to reply with "Because we don't support him for the Enduros, not even with contingency money for such awesome results." Say what!!! The kid only has official KTM support (support, not a factory ride) for the XC2 class in GNCC where he has the chance of making some contingency cash only for some podium results. He has two wins, and a second place, and he walks out of those three Nationals with some prize money from the NEPG, and maybe a little bit more from his other sponsors, but none from KTM.

Stu is not only fast, he's 'World class fast'. Look at the margins of victory in the enduros he's won; It was't just by a few seconds, but by about 2 minutes in one case. That's almost embarrasing to the other top contenders......

I wonder what a couple more years of experience & maturity will bring.......

I have no doubt he made up that time and passed JT and GK fair & square.

...maybe I got caught up in the moment...and am VERY pissed the Huskys didn't stay 1/2...my bad:excuseme: .. I'm a fuckin' asshole who hates KTM especially after "hearing" all the crap Husky has been dumped on for my almost 40 years on them....especially some of the "comments" I heard from the KTM CREW...yes ,I said crew.I have now allowed myself to be lowered to their level...sorry 'bout that :excuseme:...It 's also amazing that both Whibley and Mullins fought tooth and nail, both collapsing at the finish...then Stu finishes ,mechanic literally grabs him and his bike and wisk him away from the podium area until it was time to hit the podium, all nice and clean...phenom that KTM hasn't givin' a full ride????

Maybe you can "enlighten' me on something that was brought up ...Are there displacement requirements for each class? 250/300 2 strokes are allowed in XC2? Differant then MX where 150 2t's/250 4t's in lites class?

Guscycle
p.s. ...at least Stu gave his plate away after making a stupid statement about not wanting his "trophy dish" collection ...

Oh well, I'm a:censored: a:censored: right with ya. HATE KTM and always will. For my own reasons.

guscycle, per GNCC rules XC2=122-250 2 or 4 str, XC1=122-open 2 or 4 str, although I'll stir the pot and say a 250cc 4str & a 250 2str are surely not equal.......

No worries Gus. I agree and don't really like the elitist attitude that can come from the ktm team. Not always but certainly can.

He had a full ride last year. I think KTM has too many good racers on their team and this is a problem manifesting itself just like this. No idea why another team hasn't picked him up. Maybe it's just the poor economy and teams are already locked into their racers for this season. Certainly no one expected Stu to go 1-1-2 in NEPG. Not even KTM expected that. Most off road racers are in their prime in their mid to late 20's. Stu is 17 (maybe 18 now?). His age might be another reason why he hasn't gotten pulled away from ktm yet. There seems to be a lull for many racers coming up when they hit their early 20's. It isn't like that at the top levels of SX/MX but seems that way in offroad racing - Thad Duvall being the poster child.

Who knows why he hasn't been picked up. I do know it's not easy for him to get to the races on his own dollar. Add in that he's found himself in a great position of being top dog at NEPG and he's pretty much just took on a heaping debt to do the rest of the series. Would be nice if there were a contingency program like Kawasaki had the year that Whibley won GNCC as basically a privateer. I'm sure you'd see him on whatever brand if that were the case.

I don't follow "anything" KTM does...They do not offer a contingency program? ..heck ,I don't know if any of the Jap companies offer a contingency...I know they did at one time. KTM had the biggest rig/rider rig there..Yamaha had a rig ,but not much as rider support...Huskys(FAR) rig was bigger then Honda(I don't remember seeing more then 1 rider...it may have been a team supported by themselves ,flying a Honda banner.Guy Guroix's(spelling?) Husky rig was pretty big and he ran the 30+A class(plus he had a support rider under his tent that went 1st in his class on his maiden voyage(may have been family, but I think street2dirt knew who it was.

Thanx for info...I don't know why but I always thought that anytime the AMA set bike size legality,it went hand to hand with MX and Off-road .I guess since I ride the OL FARTS class with no bike limit I wasn't paying attention...hmmm,maybe I should start riding with the young guns in 200 class on my 125!
