• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Flasher relay 07 TE-450

Swampds

Husqvarna
AA Class
I finally found out why the flashers aren't working....I somehow lost the relay that is bolted to the top triple clamp.

Does anyone have a source for these? I have changed to LEDs, is there a flasher relay that would limit the voltage to have the flashers blink at a normal rate?

Thanks Blake. Did you get a 2 wire or a 3 wire relay? How much did it cost? It looks like there is only two wires for the stock unit. Do you know if there a specific wire that needs to go to positive or negative?

I thought I read somewhere that some relays do not allow the indicator light to flash. Does your indicator work?

Good find, that unit looks nice.

I just installed the Electrosport unit mentioned above. I've had it for months but have never got around to installing.

Let us know how that one works.

Strike my last post. I swapped the wires and it works. The dash indicator doesn't flash, like it's got a burned out bulb, but they do flash at a normal rate.

I read all that about the one you found, but I still like it better.

My electrosport one works great and only has 2 leads. Let me know if the one you got works out. The one I at cycle gear I got while making a Dual Sport kit for another bike and it has 3 leads. I placed it after the switch. I'm not sure if any others than the electrosport work on the Husky.

What wire went to positive and negative? It woud suck to blow this 20 buck gizmo trying to hook it up.

I am worried about my turn indicator lamp not working also. I think I read that there needs to be a load (higher Volt) in order to make the blinker on the dash work. You might try using one of the OEM blinkers and see if the dash indicator works with it.

I can't tell which post is which. There are no marking that I can see, so I didn't think it would matter which way I hooked it up.

The flasher relay from CustomLED works great. It flashes at a normal rate.

Thanks for all the help!

Just bought an SMR450, and I want to swap out the old flashers for LEDs. Can anyone tell me where the old flasher relay is, and how to swap it out for the new one?
